In Park View Montessori’s 18-36 Month Old Toddler Program, you will find:
- A clean, well organized, safe environment
- A group size of 16 children with 3 adults
- Tables, chairs, and rug area arranged for social interplay
- Three distinct areas to the environment:
- Practical Living – including water activities, art, snack time, and small muscle activities
- Sensorial – Montessori equipment that develops the senses
- Academic – simple counting exercises; readiness skills emphasizing development of receptive and expressive language
- Materials, including select toys, that aid in cognitive learning
- An age group of 18 months to 3 year olds
- Children given the freedom to move and make choices
- Children taking materials from ordered shelves and returning them to their proper places
- Nurturing adults attuned to the child’s physical and emotional needs
- Adults showing the child how to use unfamiliar materials
- Adults moving away from the child after a presentation foster
- Independence in the child
- Confident and happy children who are treated with respect
